Bucket Elevator

Print PDF

bucket Arintha system, Continuous Bucket Bucket Elevators have buckets mounted continuously on chain or belt.  The bulk material is directed to the buckets through a loading leg and is discharged over the face of he preceding bucket while passing around the head wheel. Continuous Bucket Bucket Elevators may be used to handle the same kinds of material as the centrifugal type, however they are recommended especially for handling materials that are difficult to pick up in a boot or friable materials.

Bucket elevators are designed to move flowing powders or bulk solids vertically. Bucket elevators use an endless belt or chain and have a series of buckets attached to it. Bulk material is spread into an inlet hopper. Buckets (or cups) dig into the material and convey it up and over the head sprocket/pulley, and then throw the material out a discharge throat. For every material there is a choice of one or more types and sizes, which will serve your needs. Should there be any doubt in selecting the type of elevator, our project engineering team will assist you in selecting the appropriate model.

Types of Bucket Elevators :

1. Centrifugal discharge

2. Positive discharge

3. Continuous discharge

Emission Points
Bucket elevators emit dust from two points:

1. The boot, where material is fed

2. The head wheel, where material is discharged

Dust Prevention Measures

The steel casing that encloses the buckets and chain assembly contains dust effectively unless there are holes or openings in the casing.

Emissions at the boot of the bucket elevator can be reduced by proper design of a transfer chute between the feeding equipment and the elevator.  Dust production can be reduced significantly by keeping the height of material fall to a minimum and by gently loading material into the boot of the elevator.

Proper venting to a dust collector, as well as proper enclosures and chutes between the elevator discharge and the receiving equipment, will control dust emission at the discharge end of the bucket elevator.
